Board of Directors

Matthew Brister, President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Brister is a registered Professional Geologist with 25 years experience in Western Canada (Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, NWT), North Africa and the North Sea. Mr. Brister was the President and C.E.O. of three successful junior oil and gas producers that were profitably grown and sold over the last ten years. In that role, he gained valuable oil, gas, heavy oil and power project experience in generation, execution and management as well as capital markets experience in Canada and the United States.

P. Grant Wierzba, Vice President, Production, Chief Operating Officer, Canada. Mr. Wierzba has over 30 years of experience in Western Canada including senior management level with the most aggressive exploitation operations in Western Canada while at Renaissance Energy Ltd. and Pinnacle Resources Inc. Mr. Wierzba has valuable expertise in production optimization, and facility design, construction and operation as well as drilling and completions. Mr. Wierzba has strong contacts across the Canadian oilfield service sector and has international experience in Iran.

Mr. Stuart G. Clark, Director. Mr. Clark has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Manitoba. Mr. Clark was the Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Storm Energy Inc. from November 1998 to November 2001. From January 1986 to July 1998, Mr. Clark was employed by Pinnacle Resources Ltd. in positions of increasing responsibility, the last being Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Clark was also a director of Pinnacle from January 1986 to July 1998. Mr. Clark is and has been a director of a number of private and publicly traded entities.

Simon Munro, Director. Mr. Munro joined the Lime Rock Partners team in 2002 as a Director. Mr. Munro has played a vital role in many Lime Rock Partners’ investments including Acteon Group, Bridge Energy, Caledus, PSL Energy Services, Reservoir Exploration Technology, Serimax Holdings, Silverstone Energy, Storm Ventures International, Twister, and V-Tech. Mr. Munro’s career began in 1992 at Rutherford Manson Dowds, a Scottish chartered accountancy firm. He gained his professional accounting qualifications in 1994 and thereafter, worked solely on corporate finance transactions. In 1999, he joined Simmons & Company’s Aberdeen office as a Vice President, and in 2001 he joined J.P. Morgan as a member of the Hong Kong-based oil and gas industry team. Mr. Munro currently serves on the Board of Directors of Bridge Energy, Caledus, Gas2, Silverstone Energy, Storm Ventures International, and V-Tech. He formerly served on the Board of Directors of Serimax Holdings. Mr. Munro has over 16 years experience in private equity, accounting, and corporate finance.

John A. Brussa, Director. Mr. Brussa is a partner in the Calgary-based energy law firm of Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP specializing in the area of taxation. He is also a director of a number of energy and energy related trusts and oil and gas growth companies. John is a past governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation and is a director or trustee of a number of charitable and non-profit organizations.

Robert Cook, Director. Mr. Cook is a Senior Vice-President with ARC Financial Corp. where his responsibilities include deal origination, structuring, execution and portfolio management. Mr. Cook currently also serves on the boards of Cequence Energy and Milestone Exploration. Prior to joining ARC, Mr. Cook was a staff reservoir engineer at Shell with assignments in Canada, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Mr. Cook is a CFA Charterholder, a registered Professional Engineer and holds an MBA degree.

Donald Archibald, Director. Mr. Donald Archibald has been an independent business man since March 2008 and served as chairman of Iteration Energy Ltd., and of Cequence Energy Ltd., (both publicly traded oil and gas companies). Prior to this Mr. Archibald was the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Cyries Energy Inc. from July 2004 to March 2008. Mr. Archibald was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cequel Energy Inc. from January 2002 to July 2004 and the president and Chief Executive Officer of Cypress Energy Inc. from 1995 to March 2001. He has considerable public company experience and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and a Masters of Business Administration.

Mr. Robert J. Herdman, FCA Director. Mr. Herdman is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and was formerly a senior partner at Price Waterhouse and PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Calgary serving that firms largest Calgary based public clients.  After enjoying a 34-year career with the firm, Mr. Herdman retired from practice in 2010.  He  currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Glenbow Museum and the Chartered Accountants Education Foundation and has served on a number of other committees overseeing the practice of accounting in Alberta and as a director for a number of not for profit organizations.  Mr. Herdman graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary.
