Peace River Arch

The Peace River Arch District includes includes major properties at Birley/Umbach, Gordondale, Boundary Lake and Hotchkiss.

Production from the assets owned by Chinook in the Peace River Arch District represented approximately 49% of Chinook’s production during the first quarter of 2016. As of December 31, 2015, Chinook held an approximate 64% average producing working interest in such assets, excluding the effect of minor interest unit production amounting to approximately 1.5% of the total District production. The assets in the area are primarily operated. Production in the Birley/Umbach area is primarily from the Montney formation.  Production in the Gordondale, Boundary Lake and Hotchkiss areas is primarily from Mississippian, Jurassic and Cretaceous aged formations.  The assets acquired in 2014 in the Martin Creek and Black-Conroy areas primarily produce from Baldonnel, Halfway and Gething formations.


Birley/Umbach Area – Montney

Located in Chinook’s Peace River Arch District, Birley/Umbach is comprised of 73 gross (62 net) drilling space units of land and includes a compressor site with current capacity of 29 mmcf/d.

To date Chinook has drilled and completed six (5.0 net) horizontal wells in the Birley/Umbach area.
